Difficulty: 4/10 – perfect for all age groups!
Technical: A mix of easy beach strolls and moderate cliff-hugging paths. Certain sections require careful navigation due to the rocky terrain.
Duration: 4 days
Accommodation: There are four types of accommodation to choose from: Camping (rented gear available), shared homes, 3 star bed and breakfast and 4-5 star luxury hotel.

Day 1: BEACH DAY: (12km – moderate)

Setting out from a secret cave, hikers get to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs. The path runs parallel to the coastline, offering panoramic views of the vast ocean. Along the way, various lookout points provide opportunities to spot the playful dolphins and, if you’re lucky, the magnificent whales breaching.

As the trail meanders, the changing landscapes, from rugged cliffs to sandy beaches, offer a visual treat. The day’s journey ends on the beach, where participants can unwind, enjoy a swim, and camp for the night under a canopy of stars.

Day 2: TOWN DAY (7km – easy)

The second day is a more relaxed stretch, with the trail mostly running along the coastal path. Make your way directly to the renowned cliff trail, where a 7km journey to Old Harbour awaits, encompassing stunning beaches, tidal pools, and expansive vistas. If visiting between June and November, catching a glimpse of the Southern Right Whales is almost a certainty. Reach the charming coastal town of Hermanus by lunchtime, offering you an opportunity to delve into its shops, landmarks, museums, art galleries, markets, and so much more. As a highlight, enjoy a brief photo session in a chic location and a surprise pop up provided by the team. Conclude your day with a special local feast.

Day 3: MOUNTAIN DAY (4km – moderate)

Following breakfast and checkout at around 09:00, venture towards the hills to discover the picturesque mountains blanketed with fynbos. The highest point you’ll reach is 300m, offering expansive and awe-inspiring views. Your day end ends at approximately 12:00, perfectly in time to end off with a Hermanus fish and chips!
